Do I get to choose my coach?

Your coach will be assigned to you when you join. Each coach was hand-selected by me to ensure the highest standard of care. I oversee the entire program as well, so you’re in great hands.

What is the average weight loss for BRN?

Losing 5-10% of your starting body weight is a good goal to aim for. Research shows that this is a sustainable amount of weight to lose and you can enjoy major health benefits.

What if I want to lose more than that?

You can! Many members have successfully lost more than 10% of their body weight with our help. We'll work with you to create a plan that's realistic and sustainable for you.

What if I have more than 10% body weight to lose?

No problem! We have a lot of members who want to lose more than 10% of their body weight. BRN focuses on helping you lose weight in a sustainable way so that you can keep it off for good.

If you need more help than we can offer through nutrition coaching, you’re a perfect candidate for my telemedicine program, Sequence, which entails medication and health coaching.

Can I go longer than 12 weeks?

Yes. The minimum is 12 weeks (three months), but many clients will go six to even 12 months.

I’ve tried other programs and nothing has worked. What makes BRN different?

We individualize our approach to each person in our program. This means that we take into account your unique circumstances, preferences, and goals. We also use a combination of techniques, including Acceptance Based Therapy, that have been shown to be effective in helping people lose weight.

What makes this service different from LiftRx?

BRN is a nutrition coaching service that helps people lose weight and improve their health. LiftRx is an exercise program that helps people get started with lifting weights. Both programs can be helpful in reaching your fitness goals.

Is this nutrition only or is there an exercise component?

This is nutrition coaching only. If you need exercise help, join LiftRx.

What if I have more than one health goal?

That’s not a problem. Many of our members have multiple goals they are working on simultaneously. We will work with you to create a plan that fits your needs.

What if I’m not looking to lose weight?

This program can also be used as a maintenance plan. Or, if you have other fitness goals, we can help you modify your dietary program to fit your needs. Just let us know what you’re looking for and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

Can you tell me more about Acceptance Based Therapy?

Acceptance Based Therapy (ABT) is a type of therapy that helps people learn to accept themselves, their thoughts and feelings, and their circumstances. This can be helpful in weight loss because it helps people move away from the all-or-nothing thinking which can lead to stress, frustration, and yo-yo dieting.

What kind of support can I expect from my coach?

You can expect your coach to be knowledgeable, supportive, and encouraging. Your coach will help you troubleshoot obstacles, celebrate your successes, and keep you accountable.

How often do I check in with my coach?

You'll receive an email from your coach every week. This is your chance to ask any questions, share your successes, and get feedback and support. In addition, you'll have access to a private Facebook group where you can interact with your coach and other members.

What happens if I miss a week?

No problem! Just pick up where you left off. Your coach will be there to help you get back on track.

What is the membership to the private Facebook group?

This is an exclusive group for people who are currently enrolled in the program. It’s a great way to connect with other members, ask questions, and get support.

Is there an app?

Yes, we use a special app that lets you and your coach communicate, as well as automatically collecting the statistical data your coach needs to help you succeed. The app works on both iPhone and Android, and can also be accessed from your computer.

What if I don’t live in the United States?

Hello neighbor! We have members all over the world. As long as you have an internet connection, you can participate in BRN.

Do I need anything else to start?

The coach will help determine what you need. It’s all individualized.

I have a food allergy/intolerance. Can I join?

Yes! We have had many members with food allergies and intolerances join the program. We can accommodate most food allergies and dietary needs. Just let us know when you sign up and we’ll make sure your coach is aware of your needs.

What if I have an eating disorder such as binge eating, anorexia nervosa, or bulimia nervosa?

If you have a diagnosed eating disorder, Big Rocks is not for you. We recommend you seek professional help from a therapist or registered dietician who specializes in treating patients with disordered eating habits.

For our purposes, binge-eating is defined as eating too much, too quickly, and/or too often, while feeling negative emotions such as shame, guilt, or embarrassment before, during, and after.

You may also discuss your treatment options with a doctor.

Do you answer medical questions?

How much is BRN?

BRN is $175/month with a 12-week initial commitment. This includes the weekly email check-ins, personalized video Q&A, access to the private Facebook group, and monthly giveaways and prizes.

What if I’m not ready to commit to a long-term coaching program?

We've found that members who commit to at least three months of coaching see the best results. However, we know that not everyone is ready to make that commitment.

I’m not sure if I'm ready to commit to coaching. Can I try it out first?

Big Rocks is unavailable on a trial basis due to the personalized nature of the program (we’d have to go through the complete onboarding process and create your plan, which is what our coaches are paid for).
